The New York City Criminal Justice Agency, Inc. (CJA) is a private non-profit corporation serving the City's Criminal Justice system by providing pretrial and research services.
CJA’s Research Department serves the agency’s mission by disseminating information about the Agency's activities, arrests and criminal court outcomes in New York City. To accomplish this, the Department issues reports about CJA operations, conducts studies on criminal justice policies and practices, develops risk assessment instruments to make release recommendations to the court, and evaluates CJA programs.
Under the supervision of a Senior Researcher, the intern would assist with various activities related to
*Experience using SPSS, Stata, R, or a related statistical programming environment required for the research assignment.
Stipend Paid & Credit Available
CJA is currently offering the following internship for graduate students. We offer a stipend for semester length assignments and weekly MetroCard to cover incidentals and expenses associated with participation in the program. Students enrolled in a matriculated program, wishing to gain credit or experiential learning, are welcome to apply.
NOTE: Candidates must be able to commit up to 15 hours per week, or meet the individual school’s minimum requirement for weekly hours. Good communications skills required, bilingual skills, a plus. Candidates must be able to accept an assignment in Brooklyn, the Bronx, Manhattan or Queens, although consideration will be given to student preference and school schedule. Students seeking credit must provide name and contact information number of their Internship Coordinator. Internships are open to all related majors for the specific assignments.
